Become A Private Detective

How to become a private detective?

First of all you need some private detective training. After that you can either become self employed or you could work for a private detective agency.

So, those of you wanting to become private detectives and investigators need good private detective training.

You usually need a BA if you want to become a detective/investigator. To get your BA in criminal justice would be a very good idea!

Here are some schools to consider, depending on where you are located:

US:
The American Inter Continental University - School Of Criminal Justice has one campus in Georgia, one in Florida and one in Texas. They also offer an online learning option.

There you can get an AS in Criminal Justice or a Bachelor in Criminal Justice, in Criminal Justice - Law Enforcement or in Criminal Justice - Forensic Science. You can also study Homeland Security and Crisis Management. Sounds good?

Canada:

By the way, to become a private detective you do need some training, but not just any training. So, be careful when signing up for online private detective diploma courses you don't know the quality of. Not all online services and websites are reliable.

Just finished your private detective training?

If you are not self employed yet and just out of school, you can just send your CV to private detective agencies in your area.

I do have a page on this website with help when trying to find private investigator jobs, that might interest you. But when working for an agency, the assignments will be given to you and you will probably not need to find the jobs or projects yourself.
