- There are white pages like www.whitepages.com.cn which kind of act like a people finder, but this website is in Chinese, so if your Chinese is not the best maybe there is no use looking up that site... unless a friend who speaks Chinese can help you with it!

- Online search by local search engines like www.google.cn or www.baidu.com may bring unexpected information to you.

- If you are in China, and if you know enough information about the person you need to find, you may ask for help from a local police station. They most probably have the person's registered address, if you can supply them with the person's full name and if possible the date of birth too.

- In the case of trying to find missing people, sometimes you might find some clues by reading local newspapers.

- Due to language barriers, you are better off if you employ a Chinese agent to conduct your search. The more you know about the person, the easier it will be. Helpful information would be the person's old address, employer, education background or any other clues you might have.
