People Finders

Its not easy to find a people search engine that is there just to help you. I know of a very good people locator though, but its only available to professionals - those that work as investigators or as lawyers.

The best people search engines in my experience (available for everyone):

Yahoo People Search

Google Phonebook
Its not that difficult to use Google Phonebook or the Google people search in your quest to find a person.

Use this website to find people, if you want to locate missing persons / find lost people in the US.

Find People on Facebook
Also don't forget that a good place to find old friends is on Facebook! I have found a few people I was looking for there myself :)

Why do I say you have to be careful with choosing which people locator to use?

Because...

- Some people search engines have many websites that goes under different brands, and that feels unfair. because then it is harder to research it/find accurate reviews about it.

- Many times you sign up with one people locator, but you are then redirected to another. Probably for the same reason as above.

- Some offer a trial period of a few days for very little money, but then it is not easy to cancel the service in time (24 hours before the last day of the trial period). If you don't cancel in time, you will be billed a larger amount of money, monthly.

- On the net you can find many that say they have had a hard time when requesting refunds.

Private Detective Tom Collins says this about one of the commonly used people searchers: "I have not found my own information on it to be incorrect in major categories however there were portions not accurate. I am also aware of at least one person being upset over the information".
